A Kindred with this Devotion has developed a mastery of altering their own body over an extended period of time. Activating this Devotion is Reflexive and allows the Kindred to alter their appearance, clothes/equipment and all, via Protean to blend into their surroundings. These alterations allow the Kindred to perfectly blend in to his surroundings allowing him to attempt a Stealth roll without the need for concealment, changing both his appearance and even the texture and temperature, which allow his body to perfectly mimic his surroundings.

This Devotion allows the Kindred to make mundane Stealth rolls without the need to be occluded and can substitute Stamina for Dexterity (representing his ability to alter his appearance to his surroundings, not slipping through shadows) in place of the usual Stealth roll. Mundane rolls to detect the Kindred suffer a penalty equal to his Protean. This mastery of Protean also alters the Kindred’s form in a way that allow him to contest supernatural detection as well. Perfect effects force a Clash of Wills but otherwise the Kindred can resist supernatural perception with an opposed Stamina + Stealth + Protean.

Making an attack or any other offensive action otherwise disrupts the Kindred’s concentration on this Devotion. While he need not spend Vitae again in the same scene to benefit from this Devotion, he must spend an Instant action to concentrate and change his body to once more adapt to his surroundings after taking hostile action.

Mastery of Majesty means leaving a lasting impression on those whose life the vampire decides to grace. This Devotion changes the duration of Charmed from Confident from Hours to Days and the Enthralled Condition from Loyalty from Days to Weeks. A Kindred with Allegiance can activate Loyalty additional times which further extend the duration (although the same subject cannot be targeted more than once every other night). If the target remains Enthralled with the same Kindred for a number of weeks equal to their willpower, the Enthralled Condition becomes permanent and can only be removed using powerful magic or if the Kindred source is slain.

Titus’ Scent

Permanently altering his olfactory senses with his mastery of Protean, the Kindred that learns this Devotion gains a mastery of scent even Werewolves are envious of. The range of this Devotion is equal to the Kindred’s ability to smell blood, except it’s multiplied by his Protean instead of his Auspex (so the final formula becomes 10 yards per BP x [Protean + 1]) and the Kindred adds his Protean rating on all rolls related to mundane use of scent.

This Devotion can be used once per turn and doing so is a Reflexive action. The Kindred cannot attempt to determine information he’s previously failed to discern in the same scene unless the circumstances change (subject to Storyteller discretion, such as a sneaking target moving from one place to another prompting an additional Stealth roll). When the player wishes, he rolls his Wits + Composure + Protean. For every success, the character can pose a single question to the Storyteller. The information should be able to be gleamed by scent alone, but both Storyteller and player are encouraged to remember that with this Devotion the Kindred has a supernatural level of sensory input. For instance, the Kindred might be able to smell that another Kindred is making use of Majesty by the pheromones he’s giving off but it doesn’t give him the ability to tell what a poster on the other side of a building says. If a target is supernaturally contesting what the Kindred is attempting to uncover, this typically makes the action contested and the target contests the Kindred’s activation roll. Perfect effects, such as detecting another Kindred using Obfuscate and keeping track of their location, prompt a Clash of Wills as normal.

Many Kindred have a common set of criteria they’re usually watching out for, such as sensing other supernaturals or anyone hostile to the character. Players are encouraged to outline a handful of criteria the Kindred is usually wary of and the Storyteller prompts a roll when these circumstances could be met.

Forced March

A favorite among Kindred in big cities that don’t have time to worry about traffic while getting from place to place, Forced March allows the Kindred to move at their Blinding Movement speed for his Resilience in hours. The demands of combat are too taxing on the Kindred’s body to keep up Forced March while the Kindred is engaged in combat, but should the conflict be resolved before the duration of this Devotion expires the Kindred can resume moving at superhuman speed.

The Kindred can, however, activate this Devotion for a chase. Doing so follows the normal rules for speed disparity between opponents and is resolved as normal. The Kindred can also take part in Vehicle chases while on foot with use of this Devotion and substitutes his Stamina + Athletics (as per a foot chase) for the usual Dexterity + Drive. Treat the Kindred as a vehicle with an acceleration equal to his base Speed, maximum speed equal to his maximum running speed, and a Handling equal to the lower of his Wits and Composure. Normally the Kindred can only participate in a chase with a vehicle and take no other action, but if he possesses the Quicken Sight Devotion (or some other ability that confers superhuman reflexes and speed) he may also take a single separate Instant action each turn of the Chase while this Devotion is active (such as firing a gun).

Instant Transformation

A Devotion known only to those that have finely honed their ability with Protean, this Devotion allows the Kindred to wield their shapeshifting abilities with alarming speed. By paying a 1 Vitae surcharge Reflexively, all activations of Protean have their activation time changed from Instant to Reflexive but can still only be activated on his turn. The Kindred is still limited by his Blood Potency for how much Vitae he can spend per turn but can otherwise activate multiple uses of Protean in a single turn and still take an Instant action. If the Kindred knows the technique Quicksilver Intervention, he may use this Devotion and activate Protean at any point during the turn, even before he could otherwise act.
